What is the hurry!

Sit down there, somewhere in the middle of this vast planet,

Look at something beautiful.  A cat, a street dog, a kid in velvet,

A drop of rain, a teenage kid, a charming girl, chameleon on a tree,

a lady with blue eyes, a woman with gray hair, and a cake with cheery.

Sit down there, somewhere in middle of chaos, in middle of people,

Think about that never tired wave that hits the shore, we are its pupil.

The breeze that goes around kissing cheeks after cheeks, but

We are always worried about the hurricane and it freaks.

Sit down there, in the corner of your room, with a paper and a pencil,

Write down the words the pours down and you’re following only a stencil.

Word after word jumps from your brain, not all you could write,

You think and filter with your patience and make it bright.

Lie down in the middle of your terrace with no lights, in the dark night,

In the middle of the sky between the stars moves a bright light.

An asteroid that burns itself for the pleasure of getting inside the Earth,

Not all time but wait with the patience for it because it worth.

Sink inside the Gibran’s words or some book you love,

Word by word read it to fall in love as if to the author you owe.

Eschew shallow breathing, the air all over is to take it in,

Inhale the entire cosmos, exhale all ego and then grin.

Why so in hurry!

The phase of the Sun, the Moon and the Earth and universe is in sync,

Feel it is all inside you or live like you are inside of it all. It is a link.

None of it is true because you are everything and everything is you.

Everything and everybody you see is YOU, be if a friend or foe.

  1. So nicely penned poem, Satish. Loved it. It is so important to pause, appreciate the quiet world around us, the beauty of the daily life. It's usually done by people who are older. But I think it's important that youngsters too practice it. Loved the reference to Kahlil Gibran, and the way you have ended the poem -- the interconnectedness of everything in the universe.

And, thank you so much for dropping by my blog and jotting down your comments.
